Assignment to a Node retrieves the display name of the Node and its ascendants as tags directly on the source. In order to optimize the config.bog, the source does not have so-called direct tags but links to TagGroups. By right-clicking "Edit Tags" on a source, it is possible to find the relations to the TagGroups via the "Direct Tags" tab, and individual tags that are created dynamically in the "Implied Tags" tab.

The InfoSource automatically takes care of sending these tags individually to the history and alarm extensions.

  • If the extension is already present during an assignment (by AssignmentView or by multiple assignment), the tags will be transmitted directly without having to do anything.
  • If the extension is added after making an assignment, just run the Init action on the InfoSource for the update to take place.

If the assignment is changed (direct or indirect assignment via inheritance), the tags are automatically updated.

Example of propagating tags in an alarm extension and in a history extension.

Propagation also works in Alarm Source info extensions on drivers and devices.
